Donating Time for the Pets on Blannahassett Island

Being a community partner is essential to our veterinary practices, whether donating time towards lessening returns to shelters or providing access to veterinary care in times of financial need. Cause giving is one of the ways Innovetive Petcare embraces and applauds the relationships our clinics have with their animal welfare partners.

This past Spring, Innovetive Petcare’s Chowan Animal Hospital, located in Edenton, NC, had the pleasure of collaborating with their local animal welfare partner, the Friends of Madison County Animals, alongside the Community Housing Coalition of Madison County, and Glory Ridge, a multi-denominational retreat on the French Broad River, to dispense vaccines,  flea and tick medication to more than 88 pets on Blannahassett Island.

Dr. Chris Ford of Chowan Animal Hospital, patiently saw pet owner after pet owner, dog after cat, for four hours to ensure every single animal that showed up would receive his time and services – averaging one pet every 2.7 minutes!

Dr. Ford and his dedicated group of volunteers from St. Paul’s made this event possible by donating time and medical support to those in need. His friendly exchange of veterinary information and thoughtful answers to pet owners’ questions was indeed a difference maker and why he and Chowan Animal Hospital are such pillars of his community. Thank you for all that you do, Dr. Ford.
